During the summer, Helse Privat moves into premises here with us in Silicia. They will establish a response center for their new project, Hjemmeliv.

Helse Privat is a Horten company established by Marthin Evensen and Morten Øverbye in 2018. In 2021, the company bought IoTastic AS, which has developed a system for processing health-related sensor data built on open standards. Together, the companies have developed Hjemmeliv, a personal health platform to improve your own health.

Helse Privat is a digital health service, with approx. 30 doctors affiliated. They offer various health services, such as doctor's consultation online and referral to a specialist. The idea is not to replace the GP, but as a good supplement for those times when you want quick health care, says founder and general manager Marthin Evensen.

He already got the idea for a digital solution for healthcare 10 years ago. It all started with him wondering how Norway should take care of the wave of elderly people. In 2019, plans became reality when he started Helse Privat, a digital health service. Marthin says that things go at a frantic pace during the day

- Yes, it's very exciting. We faced a bit of resistance at first because people were a bit skeptical, but now it seems that this is something that many people see the benefits of. We have recently entered into agreements with Bane Nor, so here it is full speed ahead.

Home life

Work is now underway on a project called Hjemmeliv, where doctor and patient are linked more closely. The key word is proactive health by giving people good follow-up and monitoring of their own health, with the main aim of being able to contact patients before illness occurs. Home life works so that you will have a sensor on you (e.g. Apple Watch), which will map various parameters (you decide these yourself). This sensor talks to Hjemmeliv's central office, so that should something happen to you, the response center will be notified and nurses will quickly be able to coordinate further measures.

-For example, it could be that a person falls in their home. Then it may be that there is nothing life-threatening, but that the person needs help to get back up. Our examiner can then inform our central office that Mrs Hansen has fallen and notify a neighbor or family. In this way, Mrs Hansen can get help in a few minutes rather than waiting for an ambulance and a doctor. If something serious happens, our doctors are contacted, says Marthin.

Otherwise, it also works in such a way that the sensor will pick up irregularities and notify the user. In this way, for example, diseases can be detected before they become serious. And privacy is well taken care of, assures Marthin.

-We take security extremely seriously and have security level 4, which is the same as the Norwegian Armed Forces use. In addition, the user will have access to all data. The user owns the data and decides for himself with whom to share it.

-Unique technology

Helse Privat is now setting up a response center here in Horten, which will be located at Forskningsparken. To begin with, two nurses will be sitting here. It will all be a subscription solution, in that you pay a certain amount every month. There will be different packages that you can choose from, explains Marthin.

- It is the new healthcare system in Norway. We see that more and more people see the advantage of being able to take the doctor's consultation online. Especially in these days with the pandemic, I think people have become much more aware and concerned about their own health.

Helse Privat has also entered into a partnership with Selvaag Bolig. Together, they will pilot 20 homes on Løren Torg in Oslo, and 20 homes on Skaarerbyen in Lørenskog municipality, which will have access to this technology for 12 months.

- Home life is a unique technology in that we have stitched together a digital medical center with sensors, based on open standards. All actors must be able to connect and interact. Home life is proactive health, says Marthin in conclusion.
